Just Waiting to be Born

Robert Isaiah Martinez

I am 17 years old, and am 8 months pregnant. I found out when I was five weeks, and of course everyone assumed I was going to have an abortion. I have to admit I was thinking about it even though I was anti-abortion for as long as I can remember.

I am an Honors student, and I am starting college in the fall. I am very proud of the decision I made to keep my son, and I coudn't have done it without my parents. All my teachers at school are supportive, and help me very much. At times, I do get so tired that I just want to quit, but I know that I got to do this for my son. Even though he is not born yet, I have grown very close to him, and I love him with all my heart. I don't know what I would have done if I had killed my own son.
