When we first found out about the pregnancy, we
were both scared and happy and confused all at once - it was very unexpected. We
were together for a few years and previously planned to get married. A few weeks
went by, and he demanded an abortion because he wasn't ready, but I
refused to terminate my son's life. He threatened to leave me if I didn't
comply, figuring that my love for him would over rule my decision. When that
plan failed, he mentioned adoption once or twice, but I felt that after
developing a relationship with my son for the prenatal 9 months I would be
attached to my baby. After being with him that long, wouldn't want to part
with him. I told him that I would keep my baby. He did leave, but
losing him means nothing compared to the life I gained with my son. Now, it's
been almost 2 years since I've had him. I have no regrets... I know
I made the right decision. I wouldn't give him up for the world.
